I have headaches on and off, and joint pain, and ibuprofen really seems to help. Have others experienced positive things with ibuprofen? Aspirin doesn't really seem to do anything (even though a doctor told me that you're supposed to use aspirin for rheumatic fever which seems related to the "things" that everyone seems to be dealing with. When I was on a long course of penicillin (which I eventually discontinued) I had severe headaches and felt like I had meningitis and like my brain was swollen. The ibuprofen really helped with this. Other posts on here talk about Motrin. And also about brain inflammation. What are your thoughts with the ibuprofen please? Is there really brain inflammation and it helps it?

Ibuprofen is the generic form of Motrin and Advil. I'm assuming everyone here uses the words interchangeably. I buy the name brand Motrin for my son and myself because I feel it works better.

So it's not just my imagination? It really DOES work? What does it do though? Is there really swelling of the brain that it reduces? I'm curious.

As far as it working to reduce whatever is inflamed in the brain, yes it absolutely does. However, be careful with long term use. Try to use for flare-ups. There are negatives to long term use of Ibuprofen. Long term use can cause gastrointestinal problems, and can also affect your histamine level by interfering with DAO breaking down the histamines:

Try using the Omega 3's instead.
