trintiybella
I know minocyclline helps inflammation but was wondering if it is ever used alone for lyme or PANDAS. We have used it in combination with bactrim for bartonella too, which made my child try to scratch her face off daily for months and month. When we drop the bactrim she seems to sleep and be much better. Was wondering if it is helping with inflammation or perhaps the lyme part of her problems. dcmom
Helps inflammation- is the only abx that will cross the blood brain barrier.
trintiybella
Doesn't it also kill strep or some other bacteria?
ktdommer
My son and I are on mino. Hits both Lyme and bart for us. We take rifampin to target bart.

trintiybella
Then why don't they just give my child minocycline for her bartonella and lyme. I am constantly told she needs 2 antibiotics. Just curious.
