Tattoomom
I am so jealous of parents with NT kids. My best friend came over this past weekend and she fussed at her kids over everything (made them eat every bite of their dinner, told them to stop running in the house, threatened to spank, etc....) and I'm just quietly observing her thinking in my head, "I *WISH* my kids would just eat a little bit of dinner and I would never make them clean their plate. I *LOVE* when my kids are running in the house, it means they're having fun! I know it's hard to compare and I can't expect her or any other parent to understand what it's like to have a PANDAS child, but it sure makes me appreciate the small stuff. I have days where I'm so angry and feel like, "Why me? Why do my kids have this? Why???!!!" PANDAS pretty much rules our lives. I'm trying to find the good in it. peglem
Its all kinda relative... My daughter can not talk. When I hear people upset that their kids are cussing them out in a rage or calling them names...I keep thinking, I wish my daughter could cuss me out! What an upside-down world we live in. Mayzoo
I was ripped apart inside at my friend's son's wedding. My only child may never reach a psychological/maturity level of being capable of marriage/parenthood. It depressed me for quite a while, and still does when I think of it. All I can do is my best to prep her for both scenarios as best as I can. I still mourn the things she is not capable of doing or enjoying because of one of her dxs, but I try to limit that as much as I can. I hope this time of grief passes for you and a sunny spot enters soon!
4Nikki
My dd couldnt talk much but since she got this condition she became a motor mouth. And then ther is the singing, she needs voice lessons. Its like watching the bad auditions on american idol. But at least i can tolerate dd.
trintiybella
I can feel your pain. If I wasn't so darn busy trying to help her... I would be basket case. It is so dang sad to see her life pass her by, with no relief or clear diagnosis. My thoughts are with you. Hang in there.
cobbiemommy
Sometimes I get down when I hear people talk about having to sit at a hot dusty ball field and watch their kid play baseball. While I do get that privilege with my daughter, I would love to have that honor for my son. He is getting better (slowly) and if he wants to try sports in the future, that would be great but I won't hold my breath. While he is tall with huge shoulders and muscles, he lacks the coordination and processing speed. He is fiercely competitive at everything (sigh).
