Impetigo _Chronic (anyone else?)

My son 8 has been getting impetigo since the onset of PANDAS 3 years ago on a chronic basis. Its always high on his forehead around the hairline into the scalp. Keflex clears it in a few days. It reoccurs every 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Anyone else having trouble getting rid of impetigo. Any ideas?

 

Currently using Olive Leaf Extract, Azithromycin, clean house, replaced all things that can bring mold, run ecoquest to kill germs, plus other supplments and vitamins.

 

The impetigo does trigger pandas for him. Kind of like teeth coming in triggers him also. Will be a few rough days then gets easier .

Impetigo can be caused by Staph or Strep. I am accustomed to treating it topically with Bactroban. Oral antibiotics and topical only if it is really bad. Have you tried this? It may good to have it cultured to make sure if only using oral antibiotic that it is sensitive to Kelfex and the "best" antibiotic to be using. There are degrees of sensitivity clearly spelled out on culture reports. Seems clear if he is he having that much recurrence that you are not getting adequate resolution and have continued low level infection.
