Guest Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Hi Everyone, After dealing with a very itchy and broken out face, I removed all forms of olives and coconuts. Olive has been out of my diet for a little over a month and coconut for almost a month. The itchiness has stopped. My face is still healing, but day by day it looks a little better. When looking back it was really bad a month ago. I do really feel it was a reaction to either olive or coconut. However, it's different from any of my other allergies/sensitivities. When using olive oil, coconut oil, and coconut water I liked it, but I never craved it. Not only that, but when I removed it I didn't crave it or battle what I do with other food items such as dairy, chocolate, wheat, etc. I know eating excess olive oil and coconut oil/water because of cravings sounds strange. I have no doubts that if it was the same type of problem as other foods (for example I could eat a whole tub of earth balance soy butter plain, jar of peanut butter, honey, etc.) that I would eat the olive oil and coconut oil/water excessively too because of cravings. Any ideas on why this would be? Is this a sign that it's a true allergy and not a sensitivity? I tested positive to both coconut and olive during skin testing, but only coconut for the IgG blood testing. Carolyn
