T_Anna
The doctor thinks DS15 has yeast. Can yeast prevent him from getting better? I know that too much abx can cause yeast, but would that be the clue as to why DS is still so stuck? I'm not sure how easy it will be to test since bowel movements are still a huge issue with his OCD. The doctor said that he is willing to treat if we cannot test. What are the symptoms as they relate to PANS? We hope to test with the Cunnigham test this week as well as a bunch of other saliva and blood tests. This really has been dragging on do long, it's so depressing : ( Thanks for reading. LNN
In my experience, yeast can cause some of the same symptoms Pandas can - OCD, anxiety, anger, no impulse control, silliness, brain fog - I'd definitely treat out of precaution and do some googling on yeast - you'll be amazed what the toxin from yeast can do to the body. LindaMW
Yeast is horrible. I just recently started reading "Olive Leaf Extract" by Dr. Morton Walker and he has some very interesting information regarding yeast and how the olive leaf extract is wonderful for it. I have yet to start it on my some, we are dealing w/mycoP, but I plan to put him on it soon. It is a good read, amazing how many things it is good for. I got it on Amazon for $4, small paperback, easy reading.
Hopeny
What are the tests for yeast? My DD tested high on a leading indicator on the OAT test (I think albicans? but I'm not sure) is there a definitive test?
T_Anna
I believe that the definitive test is a stool test. T.Anna

Stool test (by doctors data or great plains, etc) and also another test is a urine organic acid test which tests for biproducts of gut bacteria and yeast (also great plains I believe).
