Sick with Viral Day 5 steroid burst

Hello all,

I wrote earlier about my 2.5yo son with PDD-NOS. he did great with initial antibiotic trial.

 

Then doctor prescribed prednisone to see if he's a candidate for IVIG or not but unfortunately he got norovirus(stomach virus) on the last day of steroids.

 

I am wondering if we'll still see the results of steroids or is the virus going to mess up everything?? Btw, he seems to be regressing because of the infection and his speech and behavior both have gotten worse..

 

Should we still expect him to improve after the infection is over?

our dd5 got sick with a stomach virus while on prednisone. it was up and down during the taper. then, few days after the infection, he started getting better. two weeks after the taper, he was fine, then, again, went south.

My son has had stomache virus two or three times and it did not set off a flare. I think you may very well still see the improvement post steroids. It's not instantaneous though. Took a couple of weeks for DS.

It's been 6 days past we finished steroids dose and my DS is still sick with this stubborn virus:( I'm hoping we see something positive soon!!
