She hasn't been to school since mid Sept. severe anxiety. Have 1 dose last night and 1 this AM and she is back!!! How long will this last? With the taper will she fall back "into" it? Pandasphilly
We've only tried steroids for 5 days. They took about 2 days to kick in, then our child returned to us, but after stopping them pandas set back in. So we had about 5 amazing days. Wish we could stay on them. bigmighty
As soon as you get to the lower dose of the steroids, start ibuprofen 3x a day for two weeks. You want to do everything you can to keep that inflammation down.
cobbiemommy
Unforutunately, it does not last forever. At least not for us. We got about a month with each steroid taper. It gives you so much hope when they work, because you know the "real" child is in the body. I get sad as they wear off. Cobbie
