It doesn't mention PANDAS specifically - and I don't know the authors, but the thoughts were so familiar, they touched me - I'll be sharing it with others all day.

Great reminder.

 

This is the toughest holiday for dd7. Her OCD has always been centered around clothing- you can imagine the costume issue-

Furthermore, I forever battle yeast with her, and don't allow food dyes.

School is one big sugar fest, with a loud parade to boot.

It's a half day, the pressure kills her, and I allow her to stay home - much to her great relief,

although every year we spend hours trying to encourage her.... :-(

Great letter, but I need it expanded to include: When a child insists on entering your home and doing a ritual dance under your ceiling fan, they may just have OCD issues triggered by ceiling fans.

 

Seriously, glad my daughter is too old to trick or treat. We did have a decent time trick or treating one year out of her whole childhood.
