Ocotillo Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Does anyone have experience in getting porcelain veneers in a person with a tic disorder? My 15-year-old son has mostly vocal tics, although on occasion he has had motor tics as well. He has fluorosis (staining of the teeth resulting from fluoride), which we are planning to treat with cosmetic porcelain veneers. Technically the material used is "zirconia based all ceramic with lithium disilicate." He had no increase in tics with metal braces or his plastic (for lack of a better term) retainers, nor with dental sealants or composite fillings. Has anyone had veneers and was there an increase in tics? (As a mom, I'm nervous for him to have this very permanent change.) Thank you!
