sosudden Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 Daughter has been suffering from postural tachycardia - meaning when she stands up her heart rate shoots way up. Just what an anxious kid needs!! It has been going on since June 10th and has gotten as high as 178!!! We have seen cardiologist and a local neurologist and both think its autoimmune related, an area in the basal ganglia region that controls heart rate. Anyone else have this out there??
PowPow Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 One of my PANDAS children did have this problem for a few months, but it gradually got better- we did not do a tilt table test or anything to confirm POTS- we were dealing with so much PANDAS-wise at the time. I believe it is autoimmune related , or at least can be! there is a cardiologist near us who treats it , but it is not easy to treat. Best of luck to you and your daughter. How old is she?
