bulldog24 Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 My son tested + for lyme (IgM) with Dr. B. This really sucks. My son is close to 100% so dr.b wasnt alarmed, but dealing with lyme for 5 years myself and knowing what its capable of makes sick to my stomach. This + result makes me suspicious that the + babesia duncani could be an accurate result. Going to recheck babesia thru Igenex. In need of cyber hugs
colleendonny Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Oh no What abx is he on currently? Are you going to start seeing an LLMD for him? Hugs
SSS Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 ((cyber hug)) I'm sorry :-( One thing that has been on my mind lately... If the Mother has Lyme (and in my case, didn't know it, therefore not on treatment during pregnancy) if the Mother breast feeds, does she pass on the Lyme antibodies through the breast milk? (and yes I know a spirochete can pass through breast milk) Anyway, I glad your son is nearly 100%, that is wonderful---
bulldog24 Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 thanks. he is on augmentin. just stopped zith, but hoping to put him back on zith. I will be speaking to my llmd about any other options. He has been doing great. but woke with a sore throat on sunday and he has been off since. I have a 10 month old and treated throughout my unplanned pregnancy. I chose not to breast feed because to me the risks were greater than ANY benefit for several reasons. obviously if he has babesia thats a whole new ballgame
junkyardjean Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Sending warm fuzzies and hugs your way!!! You have been such a big source of info for me and others on this journey - I wish I had a magic wand for everyone here....
ptcgirl Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 So sad to hear the news. At least you already know what he is dealing with and have a llmd. Hang in there. All is not lost. Big hugs to you and yours.
