worrywort2
Hello, I've read in quite a few places that caffeine is a tic trigger. I tried to stop drinking coffee on Saturday (cold turkey!) and made it to 4 p.m. My head hurt so bad that I gave in and had 1 cup. Since then, I've only had 1 cup per day. Doeas anyone have any good info on coffee/caffeine? Also, I started taking a calcium/mag/zinc supplement. I feel quite a bit calmer. I don't know if it's the cutting back on coffee or the supplement. Sydsmom
Hi, I don't know much about caffeine being a trigger but I do know that some places sell half decaf/ half caf for you to drink as you ween yourself off of it. Goodluck to you. Lisa
Guest
For me I can't stand coffee. However, as a child I loved caffeine pop. Caffeine is a huge tic trigger for me, and not only that, it's a huge mood trigger too. I haven't drank anything with caffeine in it for atleast ten years. I don't have any suggestions for how to get off things like that which your addicted to. I crave the foods/drinks I'm allergic too really bad and that's one reason why I struggle so much to stay away from foods that bother me. For me with foods like dairy, I just had to get rid of all the dairy in my life because if I eat even just a little bit of dairy I crave it again. After about ten days of no dairy the cravings go away for me. The other thing I did was always made sure there were alternative deserts, etc. that weren't dairy.
