UC Irvine will be holding a Presentation and Reception featuring Dr. Dritan Agalliu on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 5-8pm.

Come visit UC Irvine to view and learn more about the exciting research being done in the lab of Dr. Dritan Agalliu. Dr. Agalliu will explain the mechanisms that break down the blood-brain barrier in PANDAS, and he will show how this knowledge will enable the development of therapies to prevent immune cell or antibody entry into the nervous system, thereby providing long-term treatment for PANDAS.

 

Dr. Agalliu will host you in the Dean’s office at the UC Irvine School of Biological Sciences, which will be followed by a tour of the Agalliu lab. You will have to opportunity to view, first-hand, his ongoing research. The outlook for prevention and treatment of P.A.N.D.A.S. is getting better each day, so we hope you can join us to learn more about it.

wow -- thanks vickie for that heads up. so sad -- i'm on the wrong coast -- but would LOVE to live vicariously through those who go. PLEASE anyone who goes, post info.

 

ds is just mostly over (6 weeks) exacerbation i believe due to a rash caused by allergic reaction to sunscreen. motrin calmed the immediate issues -- but i couldn't use that long term. i have to think it's BBB involvement that a breech allows soemthing to reach the brain.

I'm also very interested in this. I think he was one of the presenters on the list for the recent pandas symposium in San Francisco. Did anyone see either of the presentations ? Please let us know!

He is hosting the upcoming PANDAS symposium in Irvine - his name is the on the RSVP - not the list of presenters, but can we assume that if he is hosting it, he'll be presenting? Here is the flyer - Swedo, Cunningham, Murphy, Triffilleti and Hornig are all confirmed speakers.
