colleendonny Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 has anyone had any luck with Dr. B's office in obtaining lab results without paying for a phone consult? I would like ours to be faxed to us, but they haven't and they haven't answered my email. We don't go back until June 20th and I would hate to wait that long. If you have managed to get yours, I would love to hear how!
lmkmip67 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I did get some earlier by writing to the nurses. They mailed them. Lately though the only way I get anything is when Ian goes in for IVIG and I request it then and there. :-/ I requested a letter for the school that would qualify Ian for his IEP next year, and it took them 6 weeks and I still didn't get it. He went this week for treatment and we got the letter day of. So I am not sure how to accomplish it except to keep bugging them. Try calling and emailing, I guess.
colleendonny Posted May 10, 2012 Author Report Posted May 10, 2012 Thanks, I suppose I will try one more e-mail, and if I don't hear back, looks like we will have to pay for a phone consult.
ptcgirl Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I fax requests and they are great about faxing back lab work. At least so far....

JenniferG Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) ALWAYS ask for the ordering MD to "copy patient". You get a copy mailed directly to your home from the lab. And, because the patients are minors, we as the parents can call the lab to get verbal results. Because my kids have so many MDs. I explain that it's easier for me wo bring the labs to the other MDs apps. It really is more convenient. Edited May 10, 2012 by JenniferG

If I did not, I would be waiting weeks at times for results......
colleendonny Posted May 11, 2012 Author Report Posted May 11, 2012 I will definitely do this from now on. I wonder if I will have better luck contacting the lab?
fightingmom Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 I do ask for this every time and I never get the copy! I also call for results and am told I can not have them.
colleendonny Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 I faxed a request and got them. Not good news on the labs though.
ptcgirl Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 So sorry to hear that it isn't good news, but glad u got the labs back.
fightingmom Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 I faxed a request and got them. Not good news on the labs though. Oh no. What were you testing for?
colleendonny Posted May 15, 2012 Author Report Posted May 15, 2012 It was for my almost 3 year old son. Labs are pointing towards PANDAS as well.
