Bummy is a Rising Star!

My 4-yo came home with a letter today saying he's been chosen as his class' "Rising Star". His school has paired with MacDill Air Force Base for the last 10+ years to reward kids who excel academically despite having challening hardships to overcome. Only 1 kid from each class is selected, and they're taken on a special tour of the air force base and treated to paratrooper demos and all sorts of cool stuff, then they have a special banquet a few days later for the parents.

 

I'd never heard of the program before, but our little man has had such a challenging couple of years, it was great to see him hop off the bus this afternoon full of pride and excitement!!

It is so hard to watch our children struggle, advocate so much all the time - it is really touching to have that kind of strength recognition for your little one!
