Emergency Rooms in Northern VA-DC Metro area that are PANDAS friendly

DS is sick right now. He's had a 100 degree fever for 4 days that we can't seem to get down with ibuprofen or tylenol, and he's strep negative. He's also really experiencing an exacerbation of PANDAS symptoms. We're following Dr. B's advice following a phone consult yesterday afternoon, but so far no improvement. It just got me thinking - if we needed to take him to an emergency room in the metro DC area (preferably NoVa, but I'll travel further if needed), does anyone have any experience with any with doctors that are likely to be knowledgable about or open to PANDAS?

Sorry he is sick...I assume he is already on antibiotics for the PANDAS. Could that be why he cultures negative for strep? I don't know.

 

I am just now understanding how every sickness will be related to the PANDAS and the fear of exacerbation in one way or another.

Wish that he is feeling better soon. I think I am going to carry a PANDAS file of history/important research articles, etc. in my car...just in case.

Yes, he's been on augmentin for over 2 months now. Just resumed steroids last night because dr b thinks its an acute sinus infection. It makes some sense-- the exacerbation started 2 weeks ago when he caught a cold from me and his sister,and he's complaining of pain behind his eye. I just wish the fever would go down instead of up.
