But I dont get why they are culturing his urine while on abx? That makes no sense. Just going to cost a lot for a neg result. I would finish the course of abx and wait 2 weeks and reculture.

They decided not to actually. We did the lyme test but it was negative. They are thinking it may all be infection related and not kidney failure of any sort. Will go back in 10 days to recheck urine and decide where to go from there. He's already much better. Not peeing in the house anymore at all. Not drinking excessively either.
