dut Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Thought this was interesting. Saw a similar post the other day - apologies if it's the same article.... http://www.health-essentials.info/science/foods/A2-vs-A1.html we're lucky we have a local source for A1 free, organic, 100% grass fed milk. (Little soap box aside - Up until recently, I naively thought all dairy cows were grass fed.... then I saw a truly horrific video of dairy cows and how the vast majority get the truly ***** end of the stick when it comes to animal husbandry.... buy organic.. better for cows, much better for our kids, especially if A1 free it seems.... sorry, soap box has been put away.) thanks
MomWithOCDSon Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 That is interesting, thanks, dut. I swear, though, much like it seemed for a while as though anything you ate, or anything you did, could cause you to suffer from some form of cancer, so it seems the threat of autism via various mechanisms, consumptions and/or habits is today's equivalent! Not that I have any serious doubts that most of the substances they claim can contribute to the rise in autism rates do, in fact, contribute. It's just frankly depressing and scary. My DS has never been much of a milk drinker, and as an infant and toddler, he was raised on rice milk. But he is a big fan of cheese and yogurt. I try to buy organic when I can, and he's especially fond of goat cheese, which appears to be a good thing where A1/A2 is concerned. What next?
