Well, I suck at antibody stuff, but I too tested positive myco > 5.0 and was told no big deal...but I'm here to tell you I have felt like death for a month. A trip to the grocery store and I'm completely wiped out. Walking up and down the stairs and I'm tired. I am freaking exhausted ALL THE TIME. To me, that doesn't scream no big deal...just saying.
bulldog24 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 Well imho you certainly SEEM to have lyme if i remember your other posts correctly. Believe me, I know how you feel!!! I feel like we have more q's than answers. I know they say that the IVIG antibodies leave the persons body after a certain time. Ahhhh! So confused.... lol I also think that the no big deal thing is a bit concerning!!!!

Said they don't see that one show up often and if they do it's often indicative of a late stage infection. Have other things too that indicate lyme in labs...so... YES! More questions than answers for sure. I have been trying to search about the IVIG antibodies, but haven't seen a timeline on that yet.
bulldog24 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 Ugh now I have nyself worked up about the TSH. Normal was under 4 and his was 5.5 or something. Hashimotos seems to come up in my research. That is autoimmune too. Also I dont think ivig would effect that reading. ugh. Oh lyme fatigue is a killer. I actualy take ritalin in the day to function a little!!!

Look into that, I was recently informed that with docs that specialize in thyroid disorders, they actually like the TSH around the 2 range so 5.5 seems high. Did that not get mentioned at your appt? It was yesterday right? Who did you see? The fatigue has been beating me down since my surgery (and aching like i have the flu)...and I have to wonder if the 3 weeks of steroids I was on a few weeks prior to surgery added fuel to the fire and I'm paying for it now... bulldog24 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 We saw the pa. I again was told no big deal prob lab error??? Sigh. the only reason that its getting rechecked is because the lyne never got done. I asked if it was slightly out of range, meaning like .2 or something. But when I looked I didnt think it was a tiny bit out of range. I am calling tomorrow and ask for a few more tests. Lyme and steroids, and surgery for that matter dont mix!!! No wonder you feel so awful! Are you on abx??
lfran Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Untreated hypothyroidism (high TSH) can cause killer fatigue -- zombie state fatigue. It's pretty easy to treat -- daily levothyroxine (taken in the morning), with frequent testing until the right dosage is found. Proper treatment of my thyroid CHANGED MY LIFE. Whenever my TSH creeps up much over 2.0, I feel it. You just have to be careful that you don't overtreat and get pushed into *hyper* thyroid state. But that's also pretty easy to monitor -- only happened to me once in 5 years, and that was when I lost a lot of weight and hadn't had my dosage adjusted to compensate, Ugh now I have nyself worked up about the TSH. No wonder you feel so awful! Are you on abx?? Which PA? We saw Jennifer, but there is a Tracy, too. I liked Jennifer, she didn't make me feel rushed at all. What's with all the lab errors? Might as well not test at all then! I was just started on Augmentin for the sinus infection from h*ll that won't go away. Jennifer said the "Augmentin would treat the lyme, too" Not sure if that is accurate or not? I didn't start taking them until Saturday because lately every time I take antibiotics I feel way worse...nauseated, dizzy, flu feeling. Though, that seems to be my regular state the last few weeks...so I guess I have nothing to lose now.
