Well it will be 1 year that my 6 year old son has had PANDAS on the 17th. I cant even believe it.

what a long difficult journey it has been so far.

It took 9 months and the NIH study to get someone to listen to me and diagnose my son.

I know that isnt long in some cases, some of your children have been sick and undiagnosed much longer, but I think i dont have to explain how hard it is to wake up to a completely diff child, to have no one listen to you and watch your baby crumble before your eyes.

All the while you are screaming "its PANDAS" from day one!

The irony of the situation is that we will be at the NIH on this anniversary. Its just strange, amazing and I never could have imagined all this.

My son was only functioning at 10% if that. He was completely disabled. Now, he is at least 80% and i have MY boy back. I am feeling super emotional. I am sad, but grateful. I dont know what the future holds but feb 17th 2011 will forever be vivid in my mind.

Thanks for listening.

Hi BD24, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us...we all have our "anniversaries" which we remember--and others we forget:)

Are you in the NIH study? Wow, that is amazing that it is the one year anniversary--I am sure this Feb. 17 will be memorable as well.
