Red spots on bottom

Hi again, does anyone know what red bumps on one's bottom are a symptom of? It's not like a rash but just some scattered red bumps, almost like little pimples on the cheeks (of his bottom). I used to get these as a child too -is it yeast? He takes a bath every night and wears cotton undies.
