bulldog24 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 my 6 year old son will be seeing Dr. B in a few weeks to "hopefully" get the oficial PANDAS dx and start treatment I hope. Can someone who has been to him tell me what to expect at the first visit? I expect lots of bloodwork and questions/hx gathering, but will we leave with any treatment abx etc?? I know every patient is different and feelf ree to PM Me if you rather. Thanks bulldog
AmySLP Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 We drew all the labwork before going to him, so our first appt was more thorough. Call the office and ask for the order or for what to have your doctor order. Also you had mentioned what you can do in the meantime, while your son is having a new onset of tics. I know that he recommended having my child's pediatrician order Zithromax for her until we could see him at the first appt., however that was after I talked with him at length on the phone first. I don't think happens anymore-he's gotten MUCH busier. THis was about 1 1/2 yrs ago, when I can't even recall having a wait to see him. Good Luck, Amy
kimballot Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 He will likely sit down and talk with you about your son's history - including infections, lab work, allergies and such. If your's son's history is legthy, you may want to write it down for yourself so you don't forget anything. If you can bring copies of previous labwork or allergy results it would be helpful. He will probably examine your son and order more blood work to look for infections and to evaluate the immune system. Good luck!
