This question is for those of you who are in the middle or or have gone thru KPU treatment. I've read that fevers can come along as the immune system "wake up" and starts fighting things that have been hanging out in the body. We're seeing that now and I just wanted the reassurance that it's "normal".

Two weeks ago DS9 had congestion/fever (never higher than 100) for 5 days. 3 of those days he felt very flu-like. His left lymph system was swollen (neck and groin) for 3-4 days and his right side was swollen for about a day. I initially thought it was all KPU but DD6 and I also caught the cold (no fever) so not sure how much was KPU vs. regular illness. This happened about 2 weeks after we increased from 1 Core to 2.

On Friday, we increased from 2 Core to 3. Now DS is congested and running a 99-100 fever for past 24 hrs. His left lymph system is swollen again. No one else (so far) is sick. I want to assume this is a normal/good KPU response but of course when your kid is moaning on the couch, you second guess yourself. He'll be missing his third day of school today and it's only the 4th week. Not the healthy start I was hoping for. Anyone else have this experience of repeated fevers?

Yes, we have have experienced repeated fevers too since starting KPU treatment. Older son had his first fever for two days at 103 plus in our 6th week of KPU treatment. Then our DD and Nanny got sick both running high fevers with similar path of progression. Nanny improved within 48 hours of being put on antibiotics. We assumed bacterial exposure due to others in household getting sick and Nanny's immediate improvement. We attempted a home culture but it was negative, so it is unclear if it was strep, staph, myco or the like. Since then our DD has not been the same and we saw reversal of progress. Her only remaining symptom at the time was a rash of Livedo Reticularis. Unfortunately, we had lowered DDs antibiotics at the time due to her fantastic progress with Lyme treatment. We have had what appears two colds with mild fevers since with older DS, younger DD and myself all being impacted. We were also having difficulty figuring out the potential cause CORE, exposures, chronic infection flair, lowering of antibiotics. Older DS responds normally and seems to recover in appropriate timeframe. Younger DD does not. This has all occurred since mid July.

I've been addressing the situation with our LLMD and his perspective was/is that it is all of the above, exposure, body able to respond more normal fashion, chronic infection flair (specifically bartonella) and the potential/additional inflammation process that the CORE has added to the mix. We stopped the CORE for DD and will later address heavy metals as it might be the underlying cause for her bad reaction. She was only on 1 CORE pill per day. He added four different detoxing agents inclusive of Pinella which is a brain nerve detox to help her with symptoms. We are preparing to increase antibiotics again with her next week. Dr. wanted us to focus on detox for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to upping antibiotic again with her.

Based on our experience I'd say it might be everything but as long as your son is recovering normally, its a good sign Lymphatic system is responding and processing like a normal child. For younger DD, we have saw a huge difference in mood, aggression, perhaps 'some' reassuring hugging... no real OCD or TICS but those were never really her issues. She is obviously not feeling well still but does not show signs of a physical illness anymore.

I think I would tend to think it's from the CORE increase, just based on what I've seen at our house with each increase. We have not experienced fevers yet but dd8 rarely spikes a fever. We just increased to 3 CORE a day after so I expect to see something happening soon. Her lymph drainage has improved so something is working there with detox.

I am so sorry he is not feeling well and I totally know how you feel about questioning whether sick or KPU. No matter what, I hope he is feeling better soon!!
