Trying to figure out what's going on with my son. He had a bunch of blood work done, and everything came back negative. I don't understand enough about the Lyme test to know what they tested, but I do know how inaccurate they can be. His was a combined IgG and IgM test for the c6 peptide, and is considered negative with .17 (anything less than .90). There is not one LLMD in this great state of Texas, so honestly, it would be just as easy to fly to Palo Alto for a few days and go to the lab directly and get the test (my husband works in CA during the week and I'm sure would appreciate us coming out there for a change!)

So of course I will call them when they open, but I was just wondering if it's possible to just walk in without doctors orders, pay out of pocket, and request a test? Has anyone done it?

Thanks!

Igenex doesn't do the blood draws at their lab, but if you call them, they can send you the kit. You need a doc to sign off, so maybe whoever ordered the other blood work would be willing to sign. Then you take the order forms and kit to a local lab, have the blood drawn, then FedEx it back to Igenex.

Although it doesn't make sense to come out here for testing, it would be well worth it to come out here to see an LLMD once you have the testing done - there are a couple of really good ones in the SF Bay Area. If you PM me, I can give you names and contact info and tell you a bit about them.

If your doctor won't order it, I had our chiropractor sign our order for Igenex. So if you have other types of health care people on your side, there are others who might be able to help.
