beeskneesmommy Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 DS was tested for Gangliaside GQ1B AB (IGG), EIA Gangliaside GM-1 ABS (IGG + IGM), EIA GM-1 AB (IGG) GM-1 AB (IGM) I am copying them as I see them on the labs. I have looked this up in Wikopedia, but can someone please explain the significance and implications of these being "out of range"? I get that they have something to do with immune function, but I need sophomoric plain English to understand this one... Thank you!
hootie Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 IgM is usually positive in an acute situation IgG is usually positive if exposed in the past but not still active Are there numbers indicating a result? Also there should be a reference range listed or something saying high/low or positive/negative depending on the labs. I am not familiar with this test so I am being kind of vague. J
beeskneesmommy Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 Thank you - i understand that part of it. I just don't know what the Gangliaside IS. I think it may be a measurement of the quality or reactivity of the immune system itself?
