My son may have PANDAS

This is the story of me and my 8 year old son.....

 

any advice, would be much appreciated.....this has all started closing in and making sense to me just in the past week. years of Doctors not knowing, medications not working, and continual symptoms......has been a HUGE stresser for me and my family. It wasnt until my sons Psychaitrist told me to get a Rapid Strep test, Blood test, and throat culture, soon after the tics began.........

 

Please, I want all the input and advice I can get......

If you have health insurance, I would consider seeing Dr Latimer in MD or Dr Bouboulis in CT.

 

Someone has posted before about an organization that will fly you for free to the appt, if you cannot afford the tickets.

Welcome Julie. I read your link also. I think it is Angel Flight Soars, that Tampicc mentions. I know of at least one other family that uses them. There appear to be different divisions across the country, depending on your area, but try this main link: http://www.angelflight.com/

 

While I'd be interested to know more about his strep culture and titers, I completely agree about getting him in to see a PANDAS specialist who can help you turn this around if indeed, it is PANDAS. His symptoms certainly fit. Best wishes and please let us know how he is doing!
