Guest pandas16 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 I'm not implying that it's not lyme, I'm just curious who had IgM 3 only, or only IgM in general?
SSS Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) Well, as you know, our Labcorp. Western Blot came back all negative except IgM P23 Ab. I have no idea if my dd has lyme, but, because P23 is ONLY specific to lyme bacteria, and I cannot deny the crossover in children/people here between pandas and lyme, it does warrant a further look to me. I've been trying to glean information on it all day- Dr. Jones has written that if your IgM ONLY has this P23 positive, he considers that positive for lyme. Do I want to look further? No. I'm a bit ill about it. But, my daughter is sick in her immune system. If this is a big piece, I have to deal with it. But honestly, I'm still not sure she has it, and I am not running to an LLMD just yet... but to me, it definitely merits a deeper look, and Igenex seems to have the most 'accurate' western blot and services. So, we have the Igenix western blot et al coming to us in the mail, and we will perform the test, and see what is there.... Edited July 13, 2011 by S & S
SSS Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 The CDC has never made sense to me ;-) Ever. I know you have suffered with this, and my heart is out to you. All I know is my daughter is NOT doing well right now. There are some different pieces to her I do know are going on- mercury, gut issues- the mercury could be holding onto bacteria, and also could be causing the gut issues. I also now have to do a viral panel on her- EBV, HSV 1 & 2, HHV-6, more immune panels (she's never been deficient) and Lymphocyte enumeration inclu. NK cells. And now another blood draw for further lyme. But if it comes back zilch, 0, nil- well, I will be very hard pressed to look any further, and pretty sure I won't. I am filled with anxiety, and worried. I hate the phrase 'knowledge is power' right now. No one better say it to me. I'm nauseous. But what is worse: always wondering? wondering if maybe I had just looked into this, looked into that? Could I have found the piece, made her happy and well? I will tell you though, after this next round of testing, I don't think there is anything left! Will your insurance cover part of the Igenex testing? Then what the heck. It's just a blood draw. Get it out of your mind. In my reading today, there is a very low opinion of the regular western blot, and the governments' assessment on it. Sending you good thoughts-- let you know what we find out- Sarah
