guy123
Not as a specific treatment for tics, but I'm curious if anyone who has tics/TS has used them and if there were any noticeable effects on tic severity.
trggirl
We tried DMAE on two occasions. The first time the teacher commented on how focused my daughter was that day. The second time which was a year later, my daughter sat on the couch and read for most of the day. She strongly dislikes reading so this was huge. I would like to give it a fair trial at some point. Right now we are trying Aricept which increases acetylcholine by a different mechanism than DMAE. I'm not seeing anything yet but we are at a very low dose right now. I suspect the doc wanted to use this one because it has a lot of studies behind it. Just guessing though.

trggirl
I really didn't notice any.
trggirl
guy123, if you decide to try anything, I would really be interested in hearing the results. On the ticcing with DMAE, there was a report in the 80's about a girl that was ticcing and given Deanol. Her tics supposedly stopped. I found that interesting.
