problemsolver Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 Tics seem to be more frequent after weekly vision therapy session. Any other vision therapy patients out there? Did you notice a similar trend? Dave
PowPow Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 One of my daughters with PANDAS did vision therapy. It was after the PANDAS began, but before we realized it. She did not have tics at the time , thoguh she did develop them . She was 10 when she did vision therapy. I noticed that her anxiety and grouchiness (which were absent pre-PANDAS) went through the roof during & after therapy visits. She REFUSED to do any of the "homework". She really enjoyed the therapists & the exercises when she was there, but anything beyond it-- no way!
Iowadawn Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 Our son had vision therapy 2x's a week & 5 days at homework three years ago. He had a lot of eye tics at the time & other movement stuff going on, too. The eye muscles really get a workout--do some of the exercises and you will understand. The extra blinking, or squinting, or other stuff may be in an effort to relieve some discomfort.(?) Lot of tics, but they were in full force b4 the therapy. Dawn
