lismom Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 I thought she was calling to discuss how the tutor was doing with my son when she said she was actually calling to discuss lyme because the school nurse and my son's guidance counselor said the symptoms she's had sounded like my son. I was stunned. Spanish teacher and tech teacher and a few other students all within 2 yrs. She actually got a positive on the CDC western blot. I thought it was so great that our school nurse told her not to be surprised that it may come back neg and may need further testing. That is one great school nurse. We live in western ny. This is crazy. I thought my son may have been bit in Nantucket, which is known as endemic but maybe it was here. We are over run with deer in these parts even though its so residential. I'm not even sure that I don't have it, but not ready to address that yet. Just thought I'd share.
Suzan Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 Wow, that is great that your school is so aware. I'll bet you some others get diagnosed over the next little bit! I'm glad to see that your struggles have helped diagnose someone else! I was just thinking something similar about my work. There are a few people there I think need to seriously consider lyme. But they are resisting and would only talk to their regular doc at this point anyway. Susan
