I am wondering how many different types of antibiotics you had to go through to find some relief? My daughter did a 5 day seroid burst, followed by amoxicillin. She was on that for about 5 days with no relief when Dr. T. switched her to Azithromycin (due to lack of help and blood results). We are almost done with 10 days of Azithromycin and my daughter still has not found any relief. I am still waiting for a call back about what the next step is going to be. I was just wondering if anyone else had to go through a couple before finding something that would help. My husband and I thought the hard part was going to be finding a Dr. to treat her, we did not realize it would be so hard to find something to help her. Thanks for your help.

We've been through 3 w/ Dr T. I would say it takes a while. When we first put DS on biaxin, we started seeing small improvements w/in a week (no steroid burst). After 60 days of biaxin, my son was about 90% of his former self. He was placed on a prophylactic dose of azith for a month (2x wk dose) and he back slid. He was put on Augmentin for 30 days w/ some improvement. He's been on azith treatment strength for almost 2 months and just this past week, he has been doing really well. Just in time for his IVIG in 1.5 wks.

Thanks for the information. I am still waiting to hear back from Dr. T.. Its good to hear there are other antibiotics that do seem to help. Maybe biaxin will be the one that will help us. I will let you know if it works. Thanks again!
