EmersonAilidh Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Besides sunglasses, obviously. As awesome as looking like a mysterious secret spy sounds, I'd rather not have to wear shades ALL the time. Besides, lately I've had troubles finding any dark enough! Are there ANY other options?! This is the only symptoms that has just gotten insane with treatment. Oddly enough, it wasn't even a symptom before! Ugh.
Suzan Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 My LLMD says this can be one of the last symptoms to go but I have found after 5 months of treatment, I am not as sensitive to light all the time. Things I've thought about to try to combat the bright lights at work - sunglasses, huge brimmed hat or visor, umbrella, constructing a fake ceiling over my desk, LOL. The umbrella was the best but I decided I didn't want to be the crazy umbrella lady at work. Good luck, it WILL get better. Susan
justinekno Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Have you tried taking zinc? My son always had to wear sunglasses, even on cloudy days, and he has brown eyes so no excuse of having light colored eyes. Once he started on zinc, he barely wears his sunglasses anymore - although I still encourage him to wear them (polarized which helps block glare on cloudy days too) to protect his eyes. We had his zinc levels tested last year and they were low, though not terribly low but enough to warrant supplements. Maybe it could be worth trying? Edited April 13, 2011 by justinekno
