We were dx with a strep infection a couple of weeks ago, and have been navigating all of the fun associated with it. One thing that he's doing that's new is needing lots of beverages. He'll get a juice box, take 2 sips, and 5 minutes later get a cup of juice, then chocolate milk, another juice box, etc... We end up with a ton of open drinks cluttering then fridge (because he puts them back in to keep them cold). I can't throw any of them away for days at a time.

Obviouslynwe think this is some sort of OCD behavior, I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this before.

My youngetr son did this with food. Bites out of stuff, put in fridge to "save" for later...bites out of something else...put in fridge to save...etc. He never went back to finish what he saved. It was part of his hoarding issues at the time. As far as beverages...he didn't hoard them...but, he drank A LOT in his big exacerbation.

My dd8 often will ask for a drink, take a couple sips than save it for later, never to return. I don't know if she does that due to OCD or because she knows I get super annoyed with wasting food and thinks this will appease me.

My dd8 has food related OCD and it relates to drinks like this too. She will rarely drink the entire drink and often have several cups around with liquid. Even if she finishes, she wants to "save the cup for later" but won't use it again. She will save bottles of juice or soda for later and never go back to them but doesn't want me to throw them away. Luckily if I don't ask her about it but just throw away or put in the refridge and give it to her later, she does not complain. But if I ask, then it becomes a problem.
