AnxietyZone
Hi I just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. I have suffered from a variety of anxiety related disorders over the years and I know they can take a tremendous toll on a person's life. I have been "officially" diagnosed (among other things) with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Hypochondria, Panic Disorder, Depression, Phobias, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and have dealt with these conditions for the better part of ten years. Many of my family members are also sufferers to one degree or another. I take "benzos" and SSRI's but it still is'nt always easy. Anyway, glad to be here and that I found this place!:-)

confused1
I'm not sure where to start, however, maybe you may have some insightful information to share with me. Both my 4 yr old son and husband suffer from OCD, and anxiety. I have never had to deal with anything like this. I want to be supportive. I do things that I think are thoughtful, but turn out not to be. It gets frustrating because I am very outgoing and spontaneous type person. I love to be on the go, and this seems to make things worse on my son and husband. I'm getting depressed myself. I love my family very much, but I'm not sure where to begin? Any suggestions? Thanks for all of your help, signed confused1 Hi I just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. As a mother and a friend to Simon, I would like to learn more about OCD from the people who know it best - the people who experience it. Please, just take a few min. and answer some of my questions that my doctor could not help me with, so I can have a better understanding of his condition. You can skip questions if you do not feel comfortable; all i need is some support and a few answers. Thank you very much! Marrie Porter Please e-mail me with answers at: marrieporter@yahoo.com - Have you been through a highly stressful event before diagnosed with OCD? - What are you common obsessions and compulsions and how do you feel when you do these things? - Do you take any theraphy, drugs, or any other treatments to relieve your anixity? If you do take meds., what works the best in your point of view? - Does OCD run in your family? Do any other anixity disorders run in your family? - How did you find out that you had OCD? Thank you again. You do not know how much Simon means to me, and these answers can help me have a better understanding of my son.
