After the death of my friend I told everyone I would be taking a hiatus from the forum. Even though I have commented every now & then, I have cut down a whole lot. So, I log back on, only to find that everyone's arguing.

Have you guys forgotten why you're here? It's not because you're doctors. You guys might have different opinions (P.A.N.D.A.S. vs. Lyme, abx vs. IVIG, whatever), but bickering is getting us nowhere & no matter your experience, none of us KNOW. If anyone KNEW all of these things we talk about, we wouldn't have to be on this forum talking about them!!! The whole point is that you guys need help with your kids. If you can't turn to other Moms dealing with the same thing, who are you going to turn to? This forum isn't a place to argue your viewpoint. While a big part of this forum IS sharing experiences & theories, when it gets to the point of arguing like it has we are doing absolutely no good. This forum is supposed to be a family. When no one else did, we understood eachother. I may be fairly new in comparison to some of the veterans on here, but this DID feel like a family at first, & maybe I was just naive or maybe it's the cold getting to everyone, but it just doesn't now. This is not a debate forum, & people need to remember that. We're here to help eachother, not tear eachother down.

Very well said. :) I suspect that part of the tension might be due to strep being more prevalent in the colder months and perhaps exacerbating things in our homes. Of course, every parent wants desperately to help their child reclaim their lives.

However, I agree that this is a safe haven for so many of us and while I have not recently witnessed arguments, I have at times seen posts where people seem more intent on making a point rather than helping each other.

It's also important to remember that every case & every child is different. What works for one does not necessarily work for the next... I hope that in time, we will all know wellness in our homes. In the meantime, I believe we have the capacity to channel our trials into positive energy to raise awareness & help our children. :)

You are light years beyond your age in wisdom, Emerson. Not a one of us has answers, just our individual experiences. Well said, Emerson. Dawn

Emerson, you are so right!!! But sometimes we need to be direct to protect the innocent parents and children whom may knee jerk from something written on the forum. We are fighting for our childrens future, and if we are posting on this forum we are also advocating for everyones children and our grandchildren. If someone is giving mis information it needs to be challenged.
