lismom Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) I need advice on dosage to tell pediatrician for adding augmentin to our zithromax. How much has help all and for how long. My sons tics have gotten much worse. Maybe has an infection while on the zithromax, HELP! Thanks, Kathy I have started only 500mg of augmentin. Can you see a worsening when starting something else? And does it take weeks to see improvement? Thanks. Edited December 31, 2010 by lismom
sf_mom Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) I would try size appropriate dosage. You could see a worsening of symptoms if there is an underlying Chronic infection. Depending on infection/s it could take a while to see overall improvement and resolution. Our son traded TICS for a while, then had flairs of TICs and eventually everything resolved. We treated for PANDAS one year, Lyme since August currently no OCD and no TICs. I have heard some children who were properly diagnosed with Lyme/co-infections resolving TICS as quickly as 16 weeks. If the infection is chronic Lyme or similar co-infections cyst buster are eventually and typically used to draw out of cyst phase to prevent relapses. I would recommend 'even' though you are going to start multiple antibiotics that you continue to search for infections/issues so that your child is fully treated appropriately for the right issue: mycoplasma, additional bacteria's, parasite, viruses, molds, environmental toxins, lyme/co-infections, allergens, etc. -Wendy Edited December 31, 2010 by SF Mom
