Hello,

Someone on the pandas forum told me I should post my daughter's Igenix results here for help understanding them. Dr. Latimer's receptionist (the pandas neuro. we saw last month, who ordered the tests after daughter's CamK was very high, and also LabCorp Lyme had IgG and IgM band 41 positive) left a message that her results were "negative." I don't want to force my daughter into a Lyme diagnosis, but just want to understand these results. Looks like according to Igenix they are negative too. Daughter will be 7 next week. We live in Virginia--Shenandoah area. Her symptoms were ocd-ish stuff past couple years, then a few tics late spring. High fever in June for one day, then within a week or two, multiple tics from head to toe, with no waning. Also had impetigo off and on all summer. Thanks for any info.

My advice would be to see a highly regarded LLMD!

Many LLMD's consider a positive IGM 31 band to be a LONG TERM lyme infection! Some of the sickest kids have low positives results for many reasons. One reason is that they may have elevated immune complexes binding the lyme antibodies creating a false negative test. Another reason for a negative test is that lyme does not hang out in the blood. It burrows into the organs and tissues and until you begin to treat for lyme, you may not have a strong positive test.

On top of band 31 being lyme specific, band 83-93 is also lyme specific. It is so important to also test properly for coinfections.

My opinion is that these test results strongly indicate lyme disease.

I agree, I think these results are very likely lyme indicative. There are many reasons one may have a low antibody response ie...immune complexes or it may be hidden in the tissues and organs. Often times treatment will make results more positive. See a good ILADS doctor. Visit ILADS.org for doctor referral and information.

its a journey, good luck.

What do you guys mean by "immune complexes?" We had a bunch of bloodwork done, and all her immune stuff appeared to be normal....

Did the doctor order C3D levels? Those are one way to measure immune complexes.
