It could be Bartonella/Babesia.... I've just posted a great list of symptoms for TBI co-infections over on the Lyme forum. Babesia will have cyclical patterns of fever while Bartonella will have low grade fevers.

Does she have tonsils still? It's a good place to start with the "hiding", but not always the only place (as we well know)! When you get the culture, watch and make sure whomever does it does a good strong swipe! Basically, my son had Strep throughout a large part of his life (4 now) and it just kind of receded when he was given abx, only to resurface rapidly because it was never really gone...
