Hi,

My ds7 just started a course of azithromycin. This time, it was the generic brand, because that is what the pharmacist had available. There is no red dye in the generic brand.

He started taking it on Friday evening, and on Monday morning (today) he told me that his urine is frothy. I called the doctor, and am waiting for the secretary to call back.

Has this happened to anyone?

The pediatrician had ds do a urine test, which came back negative for protein and glucose. Last time that he was on azithromycin for 3 weeks, he had the same symptoms, and had protein in his urine. After doing the first urine test and finding protein, they did a 24 hour test, which is supposed to be the gold standard for protein, and they found nothing.

So...for some reason, ds gets foamy urine after being on azithromycin.
