NancyD Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Every special needs classroom is different. It boils down to the mix of children and quality of staff. You should ask to visit the classroom as soon as possible so you can observe the teachers and the children. I would also visit integrated classrooms in this school so you can decide which classroom might fit your son's needs best. If after observing the different classrooms you feel that the larger fully integrated classroom is a better fit but he might need additional support during PANDAS exacerbations, then push to have an aide or a shared aide. You know your child best and you will know after observing the classrooms which one is best for him. Under Federal law you have the right to have your child in the least restrictive environment.
