  1. Hi My 14 year old son developed a head jerking tic a year ago. He suffers from allergies such as dust mites, hayfever and also mild asthma. However I have recently noticed that his tic has become increasingly worse as winter has approached, with less daylight. I was listening to a radio programme about Seasonal Affective Disorder which stated that peoples moods often changed during this time of year, feeling more depressed, anxious and generally had a couldn't be bothered mood.Looking back I now realise that his tic was less severe during the summer.I have researched this more and have recently purchased a 'SAD' lightbox. My son sits in front of the lightbox for 30 mins each day while doing his homework. The theory is that the lightbox simulates sunlight which increases the level of serotonin and hopefully alleviates the mood swings.I was just wondering if anybody else had tried this and had seen any benefit in reducing the tics. Thanks.
