Hi! My daughter has had tics on and off for several years, and for a while I thought we had them gone by controlling the stress level around the house. But they're back, and stronger. She's 10, but I keep getting more mystified the more I read. She has *no* comorbid conditions - OCD, anxiety, ADHD, etc. My sister (32yo) has terrible Tourettes, complete with copralalia, but the things I assumed were the causes (processed foods, insufficient omega 3) aren't issues - we eat only whole foods, plenty of natural fats, and daily fermented cod liver oil. I & my husband have always had very minor (known only to us) tics, but none of the family has any comorbids except my sister's anxiety.
I know candida has been associated, and 2 of my sons and I are battling it, but my daughter is the one who has shown no signs at all of it. She doesn't crave sugar, passed the spit test, etc. I plan to start the candida regimen on her, but I just can't wrap my brain around *why* she might have this issue. I don't believe that these things just happen randomly and genetically to some people; I think there is a cause.
She is the only one of my children to be vaccinated for more than a year. I don't think I completed any of the series with her, though, and ceased around age 3, iirc.
I appreciate any insight!
