  1. Michele- that is interesting because we have been to the eye dr twice with our son- he too has visual motor skill trouble.
  2. Thank you so much, I am very glad I found this site.
  3. Thanks for all the replies. What is a DAN? I am not sure what that stands for. My son had 2 positive strep throat cultures in 4 weeks and then a couple of weeks later was when we first started to notice the tics. Does everyone dealing with this go on prophylactic antibiotics? Or do you just take antibiotics when you have a symptom flare up? I live in the NY area and am going to try to get an appointment with Dr. Trifilletti in NJ because I see that he does PANDAS research. Does anyone have a recomendation for anyone else in the NY area?
  4. My 6 year old was recently diagnosed with PANDAS. The neurologist called him a "classic case" and said that it is "nothing serious" and it will go away on its own. He was only having tics when we saw the Dr. They seemed like they were almost gone and now overnight he seems to have OCD. He is always crying, scared, having nightmares and stomache aches and is consumed with thoughts about a movie that he once liked and is now terrified of. This is awful and I hate seeing my child like this. I am just wondering if anyones child had this happen? To go from multiple tics (vocal & motor) to being almost back to baseline and than to overnight develop OCD symptoms and no tics. I am so confused. I spoke with my pediatrican again and she said that maybe he needs to "talk to someone" and told me to call the neurologist back. I will do that but I am also going to see another neurologist who treats PANDAS because it bothers me that the 1st was so casual about this- this is so difficult and is taking over our lives. Sorry this is so long, and thanks in advance for any insight.
