When my daughter had a recent flare up of yeast they told me to use 1tsp Maalox and 1tsp benedryl as a mouth wash swish it around for 10-30 seconds and spit, it would relieve the soreness in the mouth. My daughter is 3 and didn't have too much trouble it did make a substantial difference too in the soreness of her mouth.
