Hi Caryn I hope I am replying correctly. I have changed his hole diet and he is drinking a lot of water and no sugar or any prossed food. I am going to try Calm kid I see a lot of moms are useing it.

Well I was hoping the Penicillin would kick the tic. And it is helping he is not jerking out of his skin. But he is still jerking his head to the right and it gets real bad if he is upset so we try to stay calm,witch is not easy for any of us. I have been bathing him empson salt and that dose work to relex him. He has a hard time going to sleep he is awake till midnight I just can't get him to sleep. We see his ped doc on Friday that should prove to be interesting. His Doctor thinks my grandson has a tic and I do not think it is a tic so we are in a dule over his care right now and you know how doctors are they think they are gods. I am so mad at the hole thing they refuse to give him an EEG. Why would they do that? They put him on Topamax and said go home I had to fight his ped doc to put him on penicillin. All the Topamax did was stiffen his neck and his right arm he could not turn his head to talk to me. We stated the Penicillin on the 19th and it worked he can move his head to the right and left he can write his name now and he is coloring in his coloring books now. I took him off the Topamax on the 20th. So he is taking 1 1/2 tips 3 times a day I give him a B6 and MSM in the morning and he gets his Empson bath and he is doing much better. He has bad days and good days, Today is a good day. You know what makes me so mad at this thing that has come to rob our kids of health and joy. Is we can put a man on the moon and we set behind this computer and talk write and find any thing we want. It is 2008 and we can't fix a tic.......................! How can this be with all we can do we can't find something to help our most precious gift on earth. They came up with a drug for men so they can have sex. They came up with a drug to make us look younger (just a small shot) in the four head no more lines. They can clone a cat in China. BUT THEY CAN'T FIX A TIC. I want to hit my grandsons doctor so bad. I hope I have not upset any one, I just needed to vent or cry and crying is not going help my little baby.

That is great news I am so happy for you. I have a question for you. How long did it take for the penicillin to work stopping the tics. My grandson was put on penicilln the 19th, and the tics have slowed down but not gone yet. Thank you, Judy

Hi KKVER, What worries me is how fast they want to say it is just a TIC and they have ADHD. My grandson could have borderline ADHD, but that is the least of my worries. I have taken him off the Topamax and today I will call the the Neurologist at Phoenix Children Hospital. That man did not do one test not an EEG nor a MRI, I am so mad at all of them. These are Children and we have to fight for them. Don't give up and God Bless you and God keep your Children safe. Judy

Will I took my grandson back to the ped doctor yesterday, with a copy of,Sydenham's Chorea. My Grandson has had all these symptoms, and the first day he was taken to the ER was the 2-4-08 The Doctor told us he thought it was Chorea that is why they sent him to Phoenix Children's Hospital for an EEG and a MRI. Witch none were done. They sent me home and told me it is just a tic live with it. Yesterday I went to the web-site MD Virtual University and found the pages on Sydenham's Chore. This is the web-site www. mdvu.org. I ask my ped doctor to put my grandson on Penicillin he said it could not hurt we will give it a try. He had his first dose last and he has had two today, And I am happy to say it seems to be working he is not twitching as bad and he can move his head to the right side now. Right now he is cutting out pictures for a school lesson. So far so good. This is a very serous condition and I will need to have a lot of tests ran on him. But for right now he is doing so much better. He is taking 1 1/2 teaspoons of penicillin three times a day. I will keep you up todate Thank you so much you have help in wasys you don't know. Dear Kelly, I will be asking for the blood tests on Tuesday and that Doctor will do them or I will go to Flagstff and take him into the ER and tell them the hole thing. Mybe they will help me. God Bless you and yours Judy

Dear Carolyn, Thank you I am feeling a little better knowing so Meany people are here with the same they going on.I know we are not Doctors but we know our kids and I wish the Doctor I go to would listen to me. I am going to try and find a Doctor In Flagstaff it is a little closer to us. But I print out your post so I have the phone numbers of the Doctors you are seeing. How do I did them to hear me. I tell them when I took him in on the2-4-08 he had neck pain and no fever. And they said he had a tic, take him home. What is it with these doctors do they tic eydis they give a look at a child and the first thing out of there mouth is a tic. I am so worried and cry all the time and that just makes my grandson feel bad. Thank you for letting me vent.

Dear Kelly, I thank you for your kind words and all the info, I will take him back to the dr and ask for antibiotic I know they will give me a hard time. But I am ready to fight the fight. I just don't understand why they refuse to give him an EEG it makes no sense.And why put him on Topamax that is for seizures. God be with you and yours I will pray for all our kids. Thank you

Hi am new to this form, I found it by accident I have been on this computer for 2 weeks looking up all I can find on this neurologic tic. I am going to tell you what happen and hopfuly someone can give me some answers, because the doctors here in Kingman Arizona can't. My grandson was fine on the 2-3-08 on the 2-4-08 we took him to the ER for neck pain and a low-grade fever. The Doctor looked at him and said he had a tic. I was floored how can you make that diagnoses with out one test done. He made it clear to me he was the dr. and I should shut up. They gave him a z-pack and sent us home. My grandson seemed to be ok but the pain in his neck was still there and he was twitching and holding his head to the right side.We took him in to see his pediatric dr. they said he had no fever and was not twitching at the time. So they gave him his booster shot for chickenpox and home we went. That night he ran fever of 104.8 I called the ER and they said put him in temp bath and give him Tylenol and Motrin till the fever brakes. The fever came down to 102 we took him back to ER and he was twitching and moving around like a little top he could not control his movements.They send us to Phoenix Children's Hospital. The Neurologist said he had Tic and put him on Topamax 25mg. I know in my heart they are missing something they have not done a EEG they say he dose not need one. I am going out of my mind If any one can help please post. Thank you all and God Bless our Kids
