  1. Chemar, A special thanks to you for ALL the help that you offered to me during those testing times. My son is doing fine now with some mood swings/temper tantrums once in a while.. How is your son doing? Is he tic free now? Are you still continuing the supplements now? He must be an 'adult' by now .. Does he have OCD symptoms now ? How is he coping with the day to day stress? Curious if you faced / are facing those periodic mood swings/temper tantrums wrt your son now? Or is this something one outgrows once they cross their early teens.. My son is 14 now and is doing great at school. activities, practically no tics but has some issues related to temper tantrums (ONLY at home). he is absolutely pleasant at school your advice if any.. Any specific supplement for this? Faith, What is NAET? I just followed Chemar's advise on some omega , multi supplements.. nothing much different.. I guess age is an important factor as well.. kids do outgrow with age but they DO have those associated symptoms (like sensitivities for light/noise, etc), mood swings, irritability etc.. So, please hang in there. things will get better. Thanks to everyone !!
  2. Hi Chemar and others. Hope all your kids are doing fine.. My son is doing fine. Great to read all the posts here after a REAL long time. One question and your advise please. What is your opinion about these tissue salts? Do they help TS and general immunity as such? http://www.yamedo.de/en/alternative-medicine/tissue-salts/ In particular , I am interested in Potassium/Calcium/Magnesium Phosphate Thanks in advance.
  3. Chemar, thanks for your kind prompt reply (as usual ) How is your son doing these days? Has he totally outgrown his tics and other associated issues? Since I am not a registered member of that neurotalk forum, I am only able to view the posts but cannot post as such. If you do not mind, Would you be kind enough just to post my above query there (a simple cut and paste of my above post) and if there are some replies , I can always look into it since I can always view them even if I am not registered. Thanks in advance and take care. Cheers
  4. Chemar and Others Long time!. My son is doing very good (ofcourse at times he gets those behaviour problems when he is very tired/hungry/stressed). But overall he is doing great. Thanks (special) again to Chemar and others. He is doing good but I notice that his rate of height gain is not as good as it used to be. He was one of the tallest in the class a couple of years ago but since 2 years his height gain is practically minimal.. (he is 13 now).. My question is regarding Calc Phos. Has anyone tried this homeopathic salt? HEard its extremely good for growing children. Does it have any impact on TS as such? your advice please.. I am planning to start him on this. Chemar and others - HAs anyone tried this and if so, can you please advice on its pros/cons. http://www.internethealthlibrary.com/hom-l...y/calc-phos.htm gives a basic idea on this salt. Calc. phos. Calcium phosphorica The mineral salt calcium phosphate is the main constituent of bones and teeth. It is also found in nature in the mineral apatite. Mixed with calcium sulfate, calcium phosphate is used as a plant food. It is also used in the manufacturing of glass and porcelain. The homeopathic remedy Calc. phos. is a Schussler tissue salt and is good for bone and teeth problems, including teething pain and slow growth. Parts Used Calcium phosphate. Uses Calcium phosphate is an important mineral salt that is essential for the healthy growth of bones, teeth, and soft tissues. The Calc. phos. remedy is mainly used to treat bone complaints, for example, painful bones and joints, or slow-to-heal fractures and rapid tooth decay. This remedy is also good for problems such as slow growth, and growing pain in children and adolescents, with numbness or crawling sensations in the hands and feet. In children, Calc. phos. is effective for problems associated with growth, such as a fontanel that is slow to close and delayed or difficult teething. Weakness, exhaustion, and fatigue after illness can be helped by Calc. phos. It is also a key remedy for digestive tract disorders, such as indigestion or diarrhea with pain after eating, and is used for swollen glands due to tonsillitis or recurrent throat infections. People who need Calc. phos. are unhappy and discontented. When ill, they may crave bacon rind. Source Prepared chemically from dilute phosphoric acid and calcium hydroxide.
  5. Claire Thanks for your input on zinc.. good to know that Zinc helped your son. What is your son's height now?? how old is he? Parents of kids in the age group of 12 or 13, can you please post the height of your kids.. That will give me a fair idea of where we stand. thanks in advance..
  6. Many thanks for all your inputs and support regarding my query on his height gain. I hope its normal too.. But I will start thinking zinc as well. Tics are normal mainly due to valuable inputs from the key members here like Chemar.. May be with age , he outgrew the tics since his tics were not inherited ...
  7. Hi all would appreciate any suggestions for the above clarification. thanks.
  8. Hi all My 12.5 year old son continues to do great.. Practically no tics at all! One concern/clarification.. He used to be one of the tallest in class 2 years ago.. he used to rapidly gain height... But i notice that since 1 year his height increase is very very minimal.. I would have actually expected him to gain more height now since he is touching puberty.. but I notice that the gain is very very minimal to such an extent that now he is one of the shortest in the class.. For his age, his height is sort of normal though! Your advice is appreciated.. Also any specific diet/tips/supplements during these important years of puberty when to gain more height.. many thanks.
  9. Hi all I had started some new zinc supplements since 2 days for my son.. since then his stools are green - any relationship ??? what cud be the cause for green stools otehrwise? thanks in advance..
  10. Chemar Really kind of you to have given such useful tips. Will try Inositol. Very glad that his tics/asthma is under perfect control. Yeah, I keep telling myself that he is 12 now and his mood issues could be well related to hormones. But wanted to be more proactive given his sensitive background. He is so sensitive to smell, sound, lights. He just cant sleep with even the mildest light bulb on. He needs a DARK room. He gets annoyed when some one talks as he is watching the TV. Is it normal that a child outgrows these sensitivities without therapy , only with the use of supplements? Claire Great to see your post. Zinc is a real good suggestion. What form of zinc and how much dosage are you giving your son? Did you stop the zinc after 1 month once his anger issues got resolved?? Which brand of zinc do you give? How is your son now - is he totally tic free? does he watch the TV? My son has been watching the TV the past 1 year regularly and luckily he is absolutely fine. But I am keen to resolve his mood/sensitivities issues and hence your ideas/suggestions are most welcome. Kim Many thanks for your PM on these issues. Would appreciate if you can let me know the treatment protocol that you adopted to bring his allergies under control now. As usual, you all are so nice and helpful!
  11. Hi Chemar A small piece of advice from you please.. As you are aware my 12 year old son's tics are under control now.. I would say that for the past 1.5 years its practically very minimal - not noticeable to any one else . BUT, I notice that since 3 months, his behaviour is not upto the mark. He gets angry/impulsive and irritated for even small reasons.. He gets upset pretty fast for trivial things. It takes around an hour or so for him to settle down. Otherwise , there is no other concern. He excels in studies and in all activities. He is the topper at school and he is the most well behaved kid in the school and is SO SOFT AND WELL MANNERED with his friends and teachers at school. His tantrums are only with me and my husband. Sometimes, its unbearable for us.. Your advice on 1. Why does this happen 2. Is this normal 3. Is it a part of TS (even though one has pretty much outgrown the tics) 4. TIPS/Remedies advice (any specific supplement for this??) His worst behaviour is generally during long car drives. He has been generally very sensitive to sound and smell.. (I have read out SID and I know its a subset of TS).. So, when I talk aloud during the car drives, he gets more frustrated saying the noise irritates him.. I am so releived that he has outgrown his tics and even his asthma pretty much.. But would be definitely interested in getting his behaviour/tolerance level under control too. would appreciate inputs from anyone in this forum.. Thanks.
  12. All Its been a LONG time since I posted here. But I do make it a point to read the posts here regularly. Two queries 1. My son gets a lot of burps (especially after eating) and he belches a lot. I have heard a lot that burping could be a tic but in his case, I am pretty sure that its NOT a tic but it has got something to do with his food, etc. Occasionally, there is bloating in his stomach too. This burping (gas) is really annoying him. Any natural tips to cure the same. 2. Very rarely he gets streaks of blood in his stools (very little only in toilet paper may be). Any insight on this?? Otherwise, he is doing great overall. Many thanks to every member of this forum. Special thanks to Chemar - hard to forget her consoling words and wisdom. Chemar, how is your son doing now? Is his tics still very mild? Thanks.
  13. Kim thanks for your post. He is right now not on any specific antioxidants. DO you recommend any good antioxidants ?? Thanks.
  14. Many thanks for all your posts and useful inputs. My son's tics are presently quite mild. BUT what perplexes me the most is that - he was absolutely TIC FREE for more than 1 year inspite of all possible triggers like TV, dairy, etc. BUT just in a week after the vaccination (it was thimerosal free) , I notice eye tics.. Its amazing to see for oneself the correlation. As you all rightly pointed out, the vaccine contained certain triggers like Aluminium, phenol and Formaldehyde. Any specific supplements/ ideas to offset the impact caused by the above 3 triggers (Aluminium, phenol and Formaldehyde)? One more question - I had to vaccinate my child because he had a mild head injury (hit his head hard against a metal window) - hence had to give him the tetanus within 24 hours.. I decided to as well give the DT-Polio instead..Am pretty sure that the mild tics that have come after ZERO tics of one year is due to the vaccination (even if it had no thimerosal). But, is there some one who thinks that the tics could be due to the mild head injury???? I am not much worried about his very mild present symptoms - but I definitely am curious to know the reasons. would appreciate your feedback.
