  1. Kim: Thanks for your reply. I think my son did have red around his anus as an infant. It's hard to remember because I have four children. I'm pretty sure that it was him, it may have been my youngest or both. My daughter has a coated tongue, I don't see any spots of thrush anywhere else. She had thrush as a baby, and this coated tongue forever. I always wondered why her breath was so bad. Now I know if she cleans her tongue her breath isn't as bad. Have you done the spit test? I thought maybe I could try that on my children and self tomorrow morning. We are trying a modified diet. Elimating sugars and high carbohydrate foods. Very difficult with four hungry children. Thank you.
  2. Hi I've been reading the posts on this with great interest. I have a 10 y.o. old daughter and 5 y.o. son who are showing signs of mild tics (I think). After reading Tic's and Tourette's book. The Candida is what struck me as being a possible link to my children's tics. My daughter has ticced on and off for 5 years, we didn't realize what she was doing because the ticcing was minor. This summer the tics seemed to explode - days of continual hopping, she couldn't stand still while she talked, and finally her head began twitching when she tried to talk. I found this site and started vitamin therapy. This helped a lot, tics are very minor if at all and sleeping problems have been eliminated. My sons tic started about one month ago. He darts his eye to the side, and sometimes turn his head sharply or just nods it back and forth. I was wondering if both have Candida. The 5 yo was vaccinated in June, in July he had a round of antibiotics for a sinus infection. I normally don't use antibiotics but his symptoms had gone on for three weeks. The antibiotic made him very sick, and I don't think I finished it. I also didn't administer probiotics (I guess I forgot). Today I took the 10 yo to an environmental doctor near where we live. First, the doctor told me the movements I perceive as tics are not tics, but OCD's. 2nd she prescribed miconazole for Candidas. My daughter had five symptoms listed on the questionnaire and thrush in her mouth.(previously dx as bacteria by our dentist) The doctor didn't do any further testing before dx. My big question is has anyone tried this anti fungal for thrush or yeast? I looked online and it's not to be taken orally, however that is how the doctor prescribed it. The other thing is I'm ordering it from a company in Canada - I wonder why I can't get it here in CA. I'm not sure if I should call the doctor and ask for something else, or just continue trying to help my children on my own. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. Melissa
