How to use this read a book incentive chart
This “read a book” incentive chart is used to give children a sense of accomplishment when finishing a book. Since the goal is to encourage reading, keep it fun and be sure to allow the child to read books of his or her choice initially, even if they are short or very easy. Later, you can develop criteria that may stretch their goals. The reward can simply be a sticker for each book–or you can offer a reward for filling the whole chart.
Our Getting Started with Behavior Charts article has some simple tips on how to use the chart.
