norcalmom Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I am thinking about having ds redo cunninhams test at 3 months post ivig if we are not at 100 percent. I know more healing can occur after 3 months, but I've been reading about so many kids that have gotten 2 or 3 HD ivig's I am trying to figure out if the Cunningham test can tell you any thing at 3 or 4 months, that would indicate your kids gonna need another. I'd also be really interested hearing if any of u that had to have a second ivig did a C. Test then as well. I'd much rather do 2 ivigs in a row than be at 80 perent for a year and then back to square one if ds gets flu or something.
Priscilla Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I am not sure about the C test that far after IVIG, but Dr C told me not to do the test because IVIG would effect it- not sure for how long. My Dr said that in his experience, kids were needing at least 3 IVIG to get best results. So he ordered 4 for us. Not sure if that helps at all, but best of luck to you.

We have not paid a dime because our insurance has paid 100 percent. In January we will have to start over so I am hoping to get things as close to normal as possible. Norcalmom I would like to see the difference in the test post IVIG as well. We have had 2 ivig and are scheduled for another in a month. My son is doing great. He has his moments but overall I feel he is improving.
nevergiveup Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Yes we did one 5 months after ivig and her anti brain antibodies and cam kinase was higher than the one done 2 months after ivig. Much higher. But her symptoms were also increasing. She then got more ivig becuz we knew she was still making antibodies and was getting sicker again. We also changed and upped abx. We are currently doing another since her symptoms are minimal and are very interested to see results. (Have not done one in a year)
